Our Approach

Getting aerial shots isn't a case of buying a DJI drone and heading to the skies...

You need a plan.

On a drone shoot, we cover all the bases such as:

We manage the entire process, including:

4K aerial photography and videography via licensed drone flying.

Certifications

Unlike most hobby drone operators, Joel Strickland Media captures content from piloting drones with the necessary certifications to fly in all types of places and circumstances. This includes:

ReOC
(Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operators Certificate)

RePL
(Remote Pilots Licence)

AROC
(Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate)

The Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) is a licence issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) that allows Remote Pilots to work under an RPA Operator’s Certificate (or ReOC, usually held by an approved business) and to operate medium-sized Excluded RPA (25kg up to 150kg) for agricultural purposes.

Client: xxxx

The job: Property development shoot at XX  airport.

Our solution: As we were only able to do the shoot on Boxing Day, we handled the process from end-to-end including organising relevant permissions from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

Client: xxxx

The job: Aerial footage of a new vehicle product.

Our solution: Our solution: We added additional camera angles which prevented the driver from completing the same movements. This resulted in a more efficient shoot, saving precious time as we only had a fixed number of hours to shoot.

Client: Safe Steps

The job: As part of the Safe Steps Domestic Violence vigil, we were contracted to provide aerial photography and videography of Melbourne landmarks lit up at night.

Our solution: As aerial photography can only happen at night with a fully licensed and insured drone pilot. In order to fly the route, we managed the shoot which included seeking relevant permissions, risk assessments and three separate permits.
