Now that actor Patrick Dempsey has finished his time on TV show Grey’s Anatomy, spoiler alert he was recently killed off, he can now spend more time racing.
Currently, he races in the IMSA Tudor United Sports car Series as well as competing at the 24 hours of Le Mans race in France.
But Dempsey also runs his own Production company called Shifting Gears, it is this company that has recently secured the licence rights to two books to turn into Tv series and movies
The first one is Michael Cannell’s book The Limit, which is based on Formula 1 Grand Prix racing in the 60’s. The talk is that will be turned into a TV series in the style of Mad Men. The Limit tells the story of US Racing driver Phil Hill and his life behind the racing steering wheel. If you enjoy your racing books this is a must read. The second book is The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, The story of Enzo the Dog, as told from Enzo’s point of view.
Dempsey has produced TV shows before, he produced the TV show Racing Le Mans for the Velocity network.
So it should be interesting to see the results when both projects hit the screen.
