The Skylines Australia (SAU) DECA Motorkhana is a event that I have covered many a time in the past, I have even competed in it a couple of times, both in my WRX and then in the SP23.
This year we got asked to cover it for the sponsors of the series MiColour
About two weeks out from the event I get a call from Dean Evans begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting from Tarmac Magazine asking me if I was attending the event, as he need some images of one the Tarmac magazine team members car, in its first race debut. So another job for the day was added to the list
Sarah and I headed up Friday night to Shepparton, so we could get a early night ready for a early start on Saturday am.
We only had limited time at this event as we had to be back in Melbourne and be ready for a wedding at 3pm.
So first up I shot the skid pan, where the Tarmac Mag car was running. Meanwhile Sarah went over to the back track and covered the action over there.
For the short amount of time that we were there for on the day, we ended up with a really good selection of images. Some of mine are below
The August event we will have more time, so looking forward to trying some different things for that one
I will post up the Tarmac Magazine article when it goes to print
